Shiitake Log

Shiitake log 

1. Soak your log for 12 hours but not more than 24 hours. Do this every week. 
2. Do this once a week if it has not rained and you have no mushrooms growing.  
3. Place it up off the ground in a nice shady place on a paver or nice flat rock.
4. Wait for mushrooms to grow. 
5. Cook and Enjoy! 

Sometimes squirrels like to eat the mushrooms off the log.  We recommend some sort of cage if you can.  Chicken wire works great!  If mushrooms are growing on your log wait to soak it till after you harvest.  Give your log a drop or beating every fall but not this fall.
